Exploring State and Society in Central and Eastern Europe: University of Texas Students Visit Our Faculty

We are pleased to host 19 students from the University of Texas, Department of Government, under the guidance of Professor Amy H. Liu. These students are visiting our faculty as part of a study trip exploring the relationship—and particularly the mismatch—between the state and society in Central Europe.

The course takes place in both Budapest and Cluj. While in Cluj, the students focus on inter-ethnic relations in Transylvania and on the political and socioeconomic rights of ethnic Hungarians. The program includes lectures on the topic, group discussions, and meetings with student representatives from our faculty, politicians, and minority rights advocacy groups.
