Society influences human choices and behaviours, and the action of each person influences the way in which society works. Sociology aims at the scientific knowledge of such processes using various research methods and techniques: interview, observation, statistical analysis, content analysis etc. The skills acquired in this field can be capitalized in community development, cultural management, continuing education and training, public administration, social policies, communication and public relations, exit polls, social and demographic research.

Acquiring in-depth knowledge on how society is formed and how it functions, especially in the field of labour organization, on a wide range of concepts, theories, ideas and methodologies that allow students to critically formulate ontologies of the social work and epistemologies through which to understand it, as well as acquiring a coherent set of research methods and techniques to enable them to obtain and analyse quantitative, qualitative and ethnographic data; [relevance]

The development of technical skills required by jobs such as documentarist, individual interview operator, collective interview moderator, data analyst etc.;[relevance]

The ability to initiate, conceptualise, design, conduct and complete sociological surveys or studies: problematization, choosing a research field (population, sample, subjects), design, operalisation, data collection and analysis (e.g. quantitative or qualitative evaluation of a program; identification of resources and obstacles in developing a community etc.); [relevance]

Developing a set of transferable lifelong attitudes and skills (cognitive, communication, interactional and civic, self-knowledge and self-organization) which are appreciated by employers and community members; [community and lifelong perspective]

Acquiring transferable knowledge and skills that will allow students to navigate their education and career, respectively to continue their studies in a master’s degree in sociology/anthropology or a related discipline (psychology, economics, political science, communication, education, legal studies) in the country or abroad; [mobility and lifelong perspective]

Design and implementation of sociological research (collection, processing and analysis of social data) in organizations and communities, cultural research, market research etc.

management of social data systems

diagnosis of the organizational environment

appropriate use of the applied sociological perspective

identifying the development needs of human resources in the organization by applying specific methods

analysing the interaction between human resource and management

Transversal skills:

applying the strategies of rigorous, efficient work, punctuality and personal responsibility towards the end result, based on the principles, norms and values of the professional ethics code

applying group networking techniques, empathic interpersonal communication and taking on specific roles within the team

efficient use of information and communication sources and assisted professional training (internet portals, specialized software applications, databases, online courses, etc.) both in Romanian and in an international language
