|Romanian Journal of Population Studies|
The purpose of the journal is to share on the demographic realities, mainly from Romania, to all scholars from around the world who have an interest in this field, and to host relevant studies regardless they are authored by Romanian natives or from abroad. Both descriptive studies and research papers in demographic field are welcome.
The first Romanian Journal on Population Studies intends to be an interdisciplinary one, covering the social, historical, geographical, and economic aspects of the population. The journal focuses both on analysis made from the historical perspective and the present realities as well as the predictions made in the field of population issues in Romania and in other countries from this part of Europe. The journal would like to insist more on the applicative aspects involved in the study of population than on the methodological or technical issues.
The initiative of editing this journal belongs to the Center for Population Studies incorporated in the Babes-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca.
The proposed language of the journal is English, but we also welcome articles and papers in other languages like French or German, as long as they have an abstract written in English.
At first we intend to edit the journal twice per annum: one number in spring and the other during late autumn-winter. The journal will contain studies, articles and book reviews, information on different events (i.e. workshops, conferences and congresses in the issue of population). We would like to have in each number at least 8 articles which would be distributed between the sociological, historical, geographical and economical approach of population issues, even more as the editors of the journal come from the Departments of Economical Studies, Geography, History and Sociology of the Babes-Bolyai University.

Information for prospective authors:
The contributions must be in one of the following languages: English, French or German, with a short abstract (approx. 100 words) and key words written in English. The main text of contributions should not exceed 10,000 words. We ask authors to provide notes and comments as footnotes within the flow of the text, generally at the bottom of the page. In case your notes contain charts, tables, long equations, or other items that make a footnote impractical, you can include this information in an appendix or as an endnote. The references should be cited in the text. No full length bibliographic references should appear in the main text of the submission. All references should be placed at the end of the submission.
