Human Resources

Human resources is an interdisciplinary program which offers theoretical, methodological and applied training in quantitative and qualitative methods of field social research, economic and social data analysis, organizational assessment, strategies and methods of personnel selection and recruitment, organizational development, mediation and negotiation of labor relations. The acquired knowledge and skills can be used to analyze, plan, administer and evaluate organizational processes, as well as work procedures and standards in the field of human resources and labor relations.

Objectives

Acquiring in-depth knowledge in terms of how society is formed and how it functions, especially in the field of labour organization, a wide range of concepts, theories, ideas and methodologies that allow students to critically formulate ontologies of the social work and epistemologies through which to understand it, as well as acquiring a coherent set of research methods and techniques to enable them to obtain and analyse quantitative, qualitative and ethnographic data; [relevance] Developing the skills required to work as a specialist in human resources, recruitment, labour relations, specialist in labour and unemployment, retraining – mobility consultant, training, assessment and personnel recruitment inspector, but also other technical jobs such as marketing specialist, individual interview operator, group interview moderator, data analyst etc.; [relevance] Developing the ability to initiate, conceptualise, design, conduct and complete sociological surveys or studies: problematisation, choosing a research field (population, sample, subjects), design, operalisation, data collection and analysis (e.g. quantitative or qualitative evaluation of a program; identification of resources and obstacles in developing a community etc.); [relevance] Developing a set of transferable lifelong attitudes and skills (cognitive, communication, interactional and civic, self-knowledge and self-organization) which are appreciated by employers and community members; [community and life-long perspective] Forming transferable knowledge and skills that will allow students to navigate their education and career, respectively to continue their studies in a master’s degree in human resources/sociology/anthropology or a related discipline (psychology, economics, political science, communication, education, legal science) in the country or abroad; [mobility and life-long perspective.

Acquired competencies

Design and implementation of sociological research (collection, processing and analysis of social data) in organizations and communities, cultural research, market research etc. management of social data systems diagnosis of the organizational environment appropriate use of the applied sociological perspective identifying the development needs of human resources in the organization by applying specific methods analysing the interaction between human resource and management
