Anca Simionca has worked in the Sociology Department since 2012. She was appointed Vice Dean in 2016 and is in charge of student affairs as well as the faculty's relation with the socioeconomic environment. In 2012 she graduated from Central European University in Budapest with a PhD in sociology and social anthropology, her thesis titled "Critical engagements with and within capitalism. Middle management following socialism”. As a researcher she is interested in organizations, work and social criticism. In addition to teaching students facts and information, her goal as a teacher is to instill in them a sincere curiosity about the world around them and to support their desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others. As vice-dean, she experiences all the organizational difficulties that she researches in other contexts, and about which she teaches.
