Ioana-Alina Butilcă

Bio:

Ioana-Alina Butilcă is currently an associate faculty member at the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work and a representative of the United Way Romania Foundation in Cluj County. Holding degrees in Social Work (FSAS, UBB, Cluj-Napoca) and Economic Sciences (FSEGA, UBB, Cluj-Napoca), she chose to pursue the "Social Work and Social Economy" master's program at our faculty—a program that perfectly blends her two fields of study—with a particular interest in the socio-professional integration of people with disabilities. Her commitment to the well-being and education of children from vulnerable groups led her to enrol in the "European Master’s in Children’s Rights" program, through which she spent a semester studying at the Freie Universität Berlin as an Erasmus student. Passionate about working with children, she has also served as a social worker on numerous projects dedicated to them at organizations such as AFMC Christiana Cluj-Napoca, the Romanian Association of the Blind, the Estuar Foundation, and the World Vision Foundation. She views her teaching work with students not only as a chance to mentor future social work colleagues but also as an opportunity to gain fresh perspectives on the profession.
