Anna Iosif is a PhD student in Sociology at Babeș-Bolyai University. She holds a BA in Political Science from Babeș-Bolyai University and an MA in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Central European University in Vienna.

Her research brings together political ecology, environmental history, and environmental justice, with a particular interest in how political and economic transformations reshape environments and everyday life. Her work on Baia Mare traces these questions from socialist industrialisation and its environmental legacies through deindustrialisation, urban inequality, and environmental injustice. Her current PhD research explores ecological collective action and the making of urban commons.
