Khadija Aftab is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Environmental Sciences & Policy at Central European University (CEU) in Vienna, Austria. Her dissertation, titled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in transitioning the Circular Economy within the German Waste Management Sector”, focuses on understanding the interrelationship of these two phenomena through the lens of various actors. Her research and teaching interests include the Circular Economy, AI, water and sanitation hygiene (WASH), education, gender, and migration. Her recent involvement includes contributing to the AI Aware Universities project as a CEU team member, organised by the Centre for Information, Democracy, and Citizenship (CIDC) at the American University in Bulgaria.
