Norbert Petrovici has 15 years of experience teaching statistics at various levels of complexity, either introductory courses or advanced modeling courses. His teaching philosophy is that applied statistics can be understood much more easily when students can practice on data sets that match their knowledge and research interests. As a researcher, he studied urban economics and culture and has extensive knowledge of urban and regional data analysis. He has been working for 10 years as an independent professional in urban planning working in the private sector, with various government bodies and non-governmental organizations.
He has assisted urban regeneration projects and the management of social transformation of areas in the processes of infrastructure change. He has conducted foundation studies for the coordination and regulation of investments in various areas for local and central administration. He has carried out urban culture projects that provide the widest possible access to education, opportunities for self-expression or participatory involvement for different social categories. In the last five years he has participated in over fifty public events as a speaker on urban economy and culture; coordinated or participated in over thirty workshops; and participated in more than twenty European conferences organized by specialized professional bodies.
