Oana Mateescu has an interdisciplinary academic background: PhD in Anthropology and History (University of Michigan, 2017), MA in History (Central European University, 2002), BA in Political Science (University of Bucharest, 2001). She is also interested in adjacent fields such as political economy, science and technology studies and, more recently, anthropology of labor, class and urban studies. She has just completed a postdoctoral research on the contradictions of the European creative classes within the Frontlines of Value program of the University of Bergen (https://www.uib.no/en/frontlines). Currently, her interests focus on the thematic triad: capitalism, labor and digital technology.
