Understanding State and Society in Central and Eastern Europe: University of Texas Students Visit Our Faculty

We are delighted to welcome 12 students from the Department of Government at the University of Texas, led by Professor Amy H. Liu. Their visit is part of an academic field trip examining the complex relationship between state structures and social realities in Central and Eastern Europe.

The program takes place in both Budapest and Cluj. While in Cluj, the students explore the everyday aspects of interethnic relations in Romania, with a particular focus on the political and socioeconomic conditions of Hungarian and Roma communities. The itinerary includes expert lectures, interactive seminars, and meetings with local students, policymakers, and representatives of civil society organizations engaged in minority rights advocacy.
