Ioana Ivan is a psychotherapist and a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of Applied Cognitive Psychology, where she studies how alternative experiences of consciousness can be understood as practices of resistance against professional alienation in the field of mental health. In addition to teaching seminars in introductory psychology, cognitive psychology, and social psychology, Ioana organizes student practicum sessions and a feminist reading circle open to all UBB students. When she's not in the therapy room or the classroom, Ioana spends her time trying to understand the history of capitalism and imagining alternatives to it; when that gets too overwhelming, she seeks consolation in ancient Greek philosophy, Zen Buddhism, and extended afternoon naps.
