Antropology

Cultural anthropology is the scientific study of human creation and behavior, or, in other words, of human culture. While physical or biological anthropology studies the basic physical characteristics of human beings, cultural anthropology is concerned with the defining characteristics of human behavior, customs, and social relationships. Although anthropology was initially developed mainly to study traditional tribal cultures, it now also studies and describes the diversity found in urban societies, the customs of different human groups, and the cultural and natural factors that influence political and economic behavior. This is an interdisciplinary programme, which incorporates sociology and ethnography at specific times through shared disciplines. In addition to a theoretical framework, students are given the opportunity to do fieldwork, writing studies, and individual and group research. Conducting participatory observation, anthropological interviews, group studies, and analyzing data—that is, seeing and describing the world through the eyes of an anthropologist—are just a few of the research methods that students will learn through practical training.
